Gary Coleman's parents are grieving deeply four weeks after his death. Coleman, who was born in Zion, Illinois on February 8, 1968, died on May 28, 2010. Coleman's parents, W.G. and Edmonia Sue Coleman, said they had been preparing for the day because of Gary's long-standing health problems.
"We're just trying to take it one day at a time," said W.G. Coleman. "We're just trying to remember all the good times we had with him." Edmonia Sue Coleman added, "He was such a special boy. He brought so much joy into our lives." Coleman's parents said they hold no anger toward their son for suing them in 1989 for allegedly stealing his multimillion-dollar fortune. "We understand why he did it," said W.G. Coleman. "He was just a young man who was trying to find his way in the world." Coleman's parents said they are now focused on remembering their son and celebrating his life. "We want people to remember him for the talented actor and the kind-hearted person that he was," said Edmonia Sue Coleman.
Coleman's funeral was held on June 4, 2010, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was buried in a private ceremony at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
