Deutsche Bank Appoints Alexander von zur Mühlen as Global Head of Technology
Former Head of Infrastructure and Security Will Lead Bank's Technology Transformation
New Role to Drive Innovation and Digitalization
Frankfurt, Germany – October 18, 2023 – Deutsche Bank today announced the appointment of Alexander von zur Mühlen as Global Head of Technology, effective immediately. In this newly created role, von zur Mühlen will lead the bank's technology strategy and execution, driving innovation and digitalization across all business divisions.
Von zur Mühlen has over 25 years of experience in the technology industry, including 15 years with Deutsche Bank. He joined the bank in 1998 and has held a range of management roles in London and Frankfurt across infrastructure and security, including most recently as Head of Infrastructure and Security.
"Alexander is a proven leader with a deep understanding of the technology landscape," said Deutsche Bank CEO Christian Sewing. "His expertise will be invaluable as we continue to transform our technology platform and deliver innovative solutions for our clients."
As Global Head of Technology, von zur Mühlen will be responsible for leading a team of over 15,000 technologists worldwide. He will report directly to Sewing.

Von zur Mühlen holds a degree in computer science from the Technical University of Munich. He is a member of the board of directors of several technology companies and a regular speaker at industry events.
